মন্দিরে যাজকদের হাত ধোবার জন্য পাটাতনের ওপর পিতলে খোপ ও গামলা বসানো ছিল| আহস সেই সমস্ত খোপ ও গামলা সরিয়ে পাটাতনটি কেটে ফেলেন| তিনি ওটার তলায় রাখা পিতলের ষাঁড়ের সঙ্গে লাগানো বড় জল রাখার পাত্রটাও খুলে সান বাঁধানো মেঝেতে নামিযে দিয়েছিলেন|

And king Ahaz cut off the borders of the bases, and removed the laver from off them; and took down the sea from off the brasen oxen that [were] under it, and put it upon a pavement of stones.
